Brief

This is a course designed for pre-service elementary-school teachers who will teach English in a context where English as a foreign language (EFL). The course focuses on theoretical and practical issues in elementary-school English classes. Relevant issues will be addressed, such as (1) teaching principles, (2) teaching methodology, (3) curriculum guidelines and lesson planning, (4) class management and activity design, (5) understanding of young learners of EFL, and (6) the teaching profession development. A variety of activities will be implemented in class. Students are expected to actively engage in class activities and discussion. Moreover, they are going to participate in an online teaching project to gain teaching experience and sharpen online teaching abilities.
